Disordered Eating... we never thought we would walk this road - but we are. We have to say, it is one of the hardest roads to walk. You see disordered eating is a disease... one that steals and kills. We are thankful that our daughter is alive and that we are able to get her the treatment she needs for recovery but it comes at a very high price. We are thankful for insurance and thankful for my work who has given me a leave of absence to take care of our daughter. But with that said, we are now a one-income family with a very large out-of-pocket deductible and are driving - sometimes twice a day - to the hospital in Durham.

Asking for help does not come easy to us but we believe in Christmas miracles and the body of Christ. Any donation, any amount, would truly bless our family this holiday season. These funds would go towards medical bills, gas money, and hotel costs.

Please continue to pray for Kaelyn; whose name in Gaelic means "pure beauty".  She is still in medical distress and has her work cut out for her. We are slated to be here for 3 months but are praying it won't be that long.

Be sure to let your children know they are perfectly and wonderfully made and educate them on the dangers of anorexia and bulimia. Pray for all of the children here at this hospital. There are so many kids who hurt and are in need of love, prayers, and healing. Pray for the parents who are watching their kids suffer and for the mental illness that comes along with the diagnosis. Pray for Melvin and me who are worn out emotionally and physically. And pray for her brother Vin, who tells me he goes into the bathroom at school to cry for his sister. Disordered eating not only affects the victim but the family as well.

Our family thanks you as you consider giving. We know that with Christ all things are possible and we will hold onto that promise and continue to cry out to the master physician for healing and recovery.
