Hi There,

I'm Erica and this year we hope to use the joy from our Christmas light display to raise funds to purchase Wheelchairs for Clancy Ward at Westmead Childrens Hospital.

Clancy Ward provides care for children with Liver, Kidney or Gut conditions.

In 2023 our 14 yo daughter Carla was diagnosed with a Chronic Auto-Immune disease that effects her Gut.

It is incurable and so far has failed to respond to any treatment including strong immuno-suppressant medication.

In the last 12 months she has been admitted to hospital 9 times and spent over 75 days there due to her disease flares, undergoing dozens of tests and procedures.

The dedicated and caring staff have been wonderful. However on Clancy Ward we have noticed a lack of available wheelchairs for the patients.

It is often necessary for the children to travel to other parts of the hospital for tests and imaging or to just get some fresh air and much needed time outside. Many times my daughter and others has been unable to walk and there were no wheelchairs to use.

We would therefore love to raise some funds so we can purchase wheelchairs to donate on behalf of our beloved daughter who has shown so much strength and courage.
