Background: July 27th 2023, I was rendered an above-the-knee amputee. As many of you know, I've always found refuge in the water, spending thousands of hours surfing, swimming, freediving and spearfishing. An innovative company in Maine makes a custom designed prosthetic fin for amputees, unfortunately, none of it is covered by insurance, and my ability to generate income has been dramatically reduced.
