EmpowerTaylor: Support Her Journey to Independence
Donation protected
Meet Taylor, a resilient soul facing the challenges of advanced retinitis pigmentosa and Usher syndrome, gradually losing her vision and independence. From seeing through a paper towel roll to peering through a straw, her world is narrowing. Night blindness, color blindness, and diminished depth perception make navigating independently a daily struggle.
Taylor's mobility is also greatly compromised by muscle fatigue, weakness, and debilitating joint pain. Her balance has become unsteady, leading to more frequent falls. On top of it all, she battles hearing impairment. Taylor needs a specialized service dog to assist with multiple tasks tailored to her dual diagnosis and other invisible disabilities.
A service dog would be Taylor's lifeline, aiding with mobility, bracing, stability, wheelchair assistance, guiding, and even providing psychiatric support for night terrors and anxiety. This furry companion will enhance her quality of life and restore a sense of independence that's slipping away.
Taylor's health declined in high school, forcing her to sideline dreams of owning a pastry shop. Despite these challenges, she radiates positivity and love. Now, we have an opportunity to make a difference in her life.
However, obtaining a trained service dog comes with a hefty price tag, with quotes ranging from $25,000 and up. Shockingly, insurance doesn't cover any of these crucial expenses. That's why we've initiated this GoFundMe campaign - to rally support for Taylor and alleviate the financial burden on her family.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to providing Taylor with the assistance she desperately needs. If you can't contribute at this time, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Your support means the world to us and helps turn Taylor’s dream of independence into a reality.
