Purchase Land for the Hall

The Fellowship of Northern Traditions ( https://www.northerntraditions.org/) is a Non-Profit built from the Youtube channel, The Wisdom of Odin, which started as a way to share one person's journey into Norse Paganism. What it turned into was a thriving community of over 300 people that met around the country to honor the ways of old. Last fall we pushed for formalizing our organization so that we could better build towards our dream of a Hall.

 

Now that dream continues and takes its biggest step. We are looking to purchase land in or around Kentucky to eventually build our own place of worship for the gods of the north. This space would also serve as a multi-purpose event space for various groups, events, and retreats.

 

Our goal is $150,000. This money would be used to purchase a piece of land for the non-profit, some of our parameters for searching are:

 

-Private (no close neighbors)

-At least 15 acres (however more would be better)

-Developed (already has water/electric hook-ups)

-Some form of structure would be great, that way we can go ahead and hold events.

-Natural beauty

 

The break down of our budget goes as follows:

 

-120,000 for Land

-6,000 for closing cost

-2,000 for Survey/Inspections

-4,500 Gofundme fee

-17,500 Discretionary funding

 

The pricing and parameters are subject to great change as the land purchasing process is sure to be unpredictable and will present many unforeseen challenges. We have a lot of hopes for what we can get based on our initial search, but only time will tell what property we end up with and what is available to us.

 

Our primary goal after purchasing is getting the land ready for a gathering as soon as possible.

 

We are unsure how long this fundraiser will take, it could be weeks, months, or even years. But no matter how long it takes, in the end, the dream of the Hall lives on and becomes even more of reality.
