Hi, my name is Seon Bennet, and I’m from a small rural community called Warsop, nestled in the once vibrant heart of South Trelawny, Jamaica.

On October 28, 2025, our island paradise was struck by Category 5 Hurricane Melissa — a storm unlike anything we’ve ever seen. In just a few hours, the place we call home — our farms, homes, schools, and memories — were reduced to rubble. What was once a beautiful paradise now feels like a historic ruin.

But even amid this devastation, the spirit of our people remains unbroken.

Warsop is a proud farming community, known for producing yam and other ground provisions that help feed families locally and abroad. Now, those same hardworking farmers have lost everything — homes destroyed, crops washed away, and families left without the most basic necessities: food, clean water, and safe shelter. They have been pleading and begging for help.

We do not know the day, month or year that the community will get back to some semblance of normalcy. The community has been and continues to be without electricity and cell services.

Your donation will go directly toward purchasing and distributing emergency food supplies, clean drinking water, and essential relief to the families in Warsop as they begin the long journey to rebuild. While I’m not physically there, I want to play my part with helping the members of my community.
