Purchase flags for USMC Veteran gravesites

Hello. My name is Chuck Moore. I am a member and past Commandant of Townsend Detachment #920 Marine Corps League in Montgomery, Alabama. We are a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt charitable organization. Among our annual projects is the placement of flags at USMC Veteran gravesites in the "River Region" of South Central Alabama. We place over 500 flags and we assist other organizations such as Heritage Girls of Millbrook AL, teaching the girls about proper methods of placing flags. We also participate with the local Marine Reserve unit on Honor Guard details. We make every effort to purchase flags made in USA.

Our other charitable activities consist of helping families of Marines when health issues, accidents or weather disasters create a need. A couple of years ago we assisted a retired Marine who had survived the December 7, 1941 attack at Pearl Harbor. At age 99, he could not live at home with his wife because he was unable to get in and out of a bathtub. We provided money to have a walk-in tub installed so he could return home. Fundraising has become very difficult as a consequence of COVID restrictions.
