Hello , my name is Jane , I would like to collect funds to help purchase cloth pads for girls in a school in one of the villages in Kenya.

I have founded an education foundation for a specific school called sigoti primary, there are various issues they need support with, which we will fundraise for later ,but there one issue, I believe can be sorted out quickly and would love support to do it.

During menstruation a lot of girls in sigoti will miss school due to not having pads and the period shame that comes with the possibility of 'messing" up and other factors. This leads to poorer performance as some girls will be missing 2-5 days a month of education.

This can also lead to anxiety and trauma as they are reminded constantly of what's coming every month, and have to live with for many years of their lives. Making these girls have low self esteem and poor perception of self.

Another indirect impact of not having pads or sanitary supplies, is that these young girls become susceptable to exploitation and manipulation, it's easy to be abused and sexually exploited with promises of a few shillings to buy pads, the school highlights a problem of underage pregnancy, which could be connected with the desperate need for money to buy supplies. All this with time could lead to dropping out of school.

We have partnered with the grace cup company that produces cloth pads ,and they will match every purchase we make ,subject to availability of stock.

Please help us buy 50 -60 sets of cloth pads with the matching from grace cup (100-120) sets. the cloth pads lasts up to 3 years, 1 set has 3 pieces ,one for day ,night and one for light days. This will help with rotation of the pads and if we buy enough the girls could get two sets each.

One set costs 1500 Kenya shillings , which is roughly about £10 per set or $13 to buy a set for one girl that would last her up to 3 years. Therefore by donating £10 you are helping us get 2 sets that can support keep two girls in school. With your support we can help 100 young girls stay in school.
