Purchase an adaptive golf cart.

Hello, my name is Casey and I'm trying to raise funds to help in purchasing a VertaCat adaptive golf cart. This golf cart will allow me to get out and golf with my wife and friends again. I used to have a great time golfing with them, prior to my accident in 2011 when a tree fell on me paralyzing me from the waist down.

Although my life is really good, there are things that I just can't do or participate in. Golfing is one of these things. Several of my close friends golf a lot every year and participate in golf leagues as well. My wife just started golfing again, as well, with some of our friends. I'm very happy for her and encourage her, but I also wish I could golf with her and them. Having an adaptive golf cart would mean the world to me, my wife, and my friends; whom would love to see me golfing again.

Several years ago, I found a company that makes and sells an adaptive golf cart, and I was able to get down to Milwaukee and test one out. It was comfortable, versatile, and easy to use. It worked great! My swing, however, was terrible and awkward; definitely will need some work! Once I heard the $30k price tag associated with one, I became quickly discouraged and gave up.

Fast forward to a year ago when my wife got back into it and was going regularly, I started feeling left out and really wanted to figure out how I could get an adaptive golf cart. So I talked with some people and found some grants that I could apply for. I applied for some, got one, waiting on one, didn't qualify for others. The adaptive golf cart is $30,000 and the grants will only cover $7,500, should I get the second one. I'm not asking everyone to pay the entire balance for me, as I feel it's important for me to contribute what I can as well. So I thank you very much, in advance, for any generosity you send my way.
