Good day.
My name is David Bedard and I have been designing and 3d printing various model kits for 5 years. Recently I have been designing and printing CPR Heavyweight passenger cars in N scale. They print vertically to maximize print quality and I have been very happy with the detail produced...in N scale!
I have been approached by many people who model the CPR in HO scale and they would like the same product in HO scale. The problem has always been the capacity of the printers I had....they didn't have the print height needed. Ideally I would need a print height of 300mm or more to print cars in HO scale as a 85' HO scale passenger car is about 298mm long.
I came across the Uniformation GK3 Ultra which is in pre-order phase. A delivery date of mid December has been promised.....so figure January some time.
Unfamiliar with Unifromation as a company, I did some digging and the reviews are quite positive. The build quality and feature set is quite good. But more specifically, the build height of 300mm and the resolution that is inline with what i'm using now makes it a printer that "should" print what is needed.
I'm looking for some support with this. Financially I cannot afford the investment to purchase a printer. Start with a single purchase and if successful, purchase a few more.
I would like to reach out to the community and ask for some help. This is what I can offer.....
For every 100 dollars donated, I will send you one Passenger Car kit. This will ship when the printers are dialed in and the quality is up to snuff. This 100 dollars per kit is a substantial discount to what the actual cost per kit will be. The final price will be determined when I print successfully some kits.
Thank you for your support. Im hoping to fill this void in the HO scale passenger car market.
