Ok friends, gonna be real for a moment and send an honest request for help.
You all know that Layla is the absolute love of my life and has been for years...9 to be exact. I've been so blessed because **knock on wood** she's been a perfectly happy and healthy dog.
This year it has been my goal to adopt a second puppy and become an official "crazy dog lady." After almost a year of searching, this little guy (who I've since named Phoenix) fell into my life and I was immediately in love. He's been living with Layla (who is slowly adjusting to not being the queen) and me for almost a month now- he's smart, fun, freaking adorable and constantly keeping me on my toes.
Tonight I gave both my dogs a KONG, a perfectly normal chew toy. Two seconds after sitting down to eat dinner, Phoenix starts screaming. He accidentally swallowed his KONG and it got stuck in his throat. Long story short, he swallowed it and now needs a $3,500 surgery to get it out.
I joke all the time about how much money I don't make as a teacher but in all reality, I love my job and I love that I even get paid to teach. However in times like this, money becomes so unbelievably stressful and scary that I can't see straight. I hate asking for help but I don't have a choice. I was approved for a "Credit Care" card that allows me to make payments over 18 months interest-free, but it would help so much to get as much paid off as quickly as possible as additional monthly payments aren't looking to fit well in my budget. Seriously, I can't stress enough, even $5 is worth thousands of pounds of reduced stress.
Thank you so much in advance for even reading, a million thank-you's and hugs for anyone that can help at all.
Muchísimas gracias in advance, Happy Holidays!
Love, Tammy Jean, Layla Jean and Phoenix (now aptly nick-named by the VET nurses as "Kong Puppy") <3
