Help Shelby Walk Without Pain.

Hi, I’m Louise and I’m fundraising to help cover urgent veterinary treatment for our beautiful 7 month old puppy Bernese Mountain Dog, Shelby.

We were responsible buyers and did everything right before bringing Shelby home. We carefully checked that both her mum and dad had passed their health testing, including hip and elbow scores, and there were no concerns raised at the time of purchase. Shelby appeared fit, happy, and healthy when we collected her.

Sadly, just recently, Shelby was devastating diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia following X-rays. This is a genetic condition that was present from birth but only became visible as she started to grow. It has been devastating to hear that she is already in pain and to watch her limp around at such a young age.

Because this condition is genetic and congenital, our pet insurance will not cover the cost of treatment, leaving us facing this alone.

Shelby now needs specialist surgery to give her a chance at a pain-free life. The cost is £7,000 per hip, and both hips are affected.

We are doing everything we can for her, but the cost is overwhelming. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards her treatment, pain relief, and recovery care. If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean just as much to us.
