Hello Everyone,
My name is Samantha and I’d like to introduce you to my puppy Rio. He is a sweet & playful Golden Retriever puppy. I’ve had him since he was just a baby and he has brought me so much joy! Unfortunately, Rio was infected with the Canine Papilloma virus when someone failed to keep their dog away from other dogs for the recommended amount of time because their dog didn’t show any severe symptoms. Canine Papilloma virus, also known as oral warts, are small, benign tumors of the mouth caused by the papilloma virus. The virus mainly affects young dogs under the age of 2 whose immune system are not strong enough to combat the virus. In Rio’s case he was only 6 months old when he caught the virus putting him at major risk and started to show symptoms immediately! I have been dealing with surgeons and dermatologist since then. He’s already had surgery once before and the virus returned with vengeance attacking his tounge, gums, and throat making it difficult for him to eat and breathe. I suffer from anxiety and depression Rio is the first dog I’ve owned and the only emotional support I’ve had that has truly helped me tremendously. He has become family, this severe case of papilloma virus can ultimately conclude in having to put him down if I can’t financially support the treatment necessary to contain the tumors which are affecting his health and well-being. I would appreciate any donations to help keep my puppy Rio here with me. “Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
