Puppy Hit and Run - Medical Bills
Donation protected
A puppy (less than 6 months old based on his teeth) was hit by a vehicle on Airport Blvd. near Publix on University Ave. The driver of the vehicle kept driving, resulting in the hit and run. Fortunately, the other vehicles stopped 3 lanes of traffic and at least 4 people came to the puppy’s rescue to move him out of the road. Police were notified as well as the Mobile Animal Control. In order to get him medical attention in a more timely manner, he was transported to Medvet by a couple who had stopped to assist. This puppy is a CHAMP as he was stabilized at Medvet and is currently undergoing more tests and treatment. The veterinary doctor on staff is optimistic that this little puppy will be able to have a full recovery, with a few injuries that will hopefully heal quickly due to how young he is. At this moment, he has a fracture in his front right leg and has a potential dislocated hip. He may require further surgery to remove a possible bone chip in the carpal joint. We want this puppy to live a fun, healthy, adventurous life! We appreciate any and all donations to cover the emergency vet costs associated with this hit and run.
