PUPPY GOES TO AMERICA

Donation protected
Hi friends!

My name is PUPPY! My humans, Carina and Lexi, found me in a trash pile in a slum in Northern Morocco, they saw a sparkle in my eye and a friendly personality so they did something they’d never done before - they took me home and gave me a bath, pulled about a hundred ticks off me and fed me. They weren’t sure what they were going to do with me, but when the Corona Virus lock down started in Morocco they decided to keep me. Pretty quickly they realized it was going to be hard to get home to America. As evacuation flights began Carina researched how to bring me to the states, but was told over and over that pets were not allowed. She and Lexi decided, each time a flight came up, that staying with me was more important. Eventually they found another dog who was really struggling and really sick living in the cemetery near their house. Carina convinced Lexi to bring this dog home and quarantine him until he was well enough to go to a shelter. Turns out Big Dog, as small as he is, has a huge personality. My life got better since I had a playmate too! Now we are inseparable! Me and Big Dog inspired our humans to find homes for other Moroccaine Beldi street dog rescues. This is how we met the folks at SFT Morocco Animal Sanctuary. Milena, a volunteer, has been the most helpful and kind person anytime we have ever had a question or a problem about doggy health. We really valued her help and the help of the whole shelter so we wanted to help them as much as possible too. Carina has a friend in the states, Keirsten, who has been wanting a dog and turns out she was the perfect person to adopt our newest buddy, Casper! He’s a big baby and loves to cuddle. Now all of us are trying to get back to the states together - an evacuation flight has finally been scheduled for June 19 where the airline is allowing pets! The details are shady and we haven’t been confirmed by the airline yet. Regardless Carina and Lexi are preparing all of us for travel. Even if the evac flight fills up or won’t allow all of us together - commercial airline flights *should* be resuming again sometime in June. Unfortunately the evac tickets are about $1500 USD per human - which is about 5x their normal price. Even if they end up flying commercial, the ticket prices have surged and the airline will charge $200 USD per dog. This doesn’t include the cost of harnesses, leashes, collars, IATA travel crates (Casper is a lab mix and I am a Belgian Malinois so we are HUGE puppies and need big crates!) dog food, vet bills, taksi rides to and from the vet and the airport, paperwork fees, any necessary bribes we’ve had to pay to travel so far, or transport from the airport in the USA to our home with 3 dogs. We’ve been stranded here in Morocco without jobs since March and our funds are dwindling. No matter what we would rather go broke than separate our pack but we are hoping some folks out there can be generous to donate to our cause. Our goal is to raise enough to pay for all of the expenses to get our pack home together (and get Casper to his forever home with my friend Keirsten!) and anything we raise extra we want to donate to SFT Morocco to show our endless appreciation for everything they have done for us and for all the things they do for animals and people in North Morocco.
