Puppets in the park

I am bringing my bi-lingual puppet show, about the nature of friendship, to the Spring Festival at Cope's Corner, in upstate New York.  This lovely little park was rescued from developers a few years back, through the dedicated hard work of community people, who continue to support and manage the park today.   Families and neighbors gather for fun and games--and this year they will have a puppet show too! 

There is a small grant that covers most of the events, but not enough to cover my transportation and personnel costs.  I rent a van big enough to carry the sets, props, puppets and lights, and I  hire helpers to get the show set up and performed.  I have volunteers too--my family!

This is my first professional gig since I retired as an art educator.  I have done puppets since I was a kid and it is how I want to spend the next chapter of my art life.

If I can raise some funds to cover my part, then the small grant the parks committee will probably get can go to pay the musicians, zoo caravan, and other fun stuff.  The fair is May 2nd, so come by if you are able.  And thank you for helping me realize a dream, and for bringing puppet arts to a wonderful community event.
