Pup Hit By Car Owners Refuse To Help

I need the power of social media to help this girl. My good friend watched this old girl get hit by a car and immediately jumped into action to help. When he opened his car door she jumped right in and he’s been taking care of her ever since. It’s now been around a month and he was able to take her to the vet, who prescribed antibiotics for a UTI since she was peeing blood. Since then, her UTI/kidney issue has worsened, now needing a $800 test to check out her bloodwork and run diagnostics deeper.

The vets also scanned her microchip which located two previous owners. He contacted the owners with the first having rehomed her because they moved to Texas. The second owner was also contacted and told him he didn’t want the dog, that the dog was his problem now. The problem is, my friend just tore his shoulder and now needs surgery himself. He can’t afford to keep taking her to a vet and all of the shelters will put her down because she’s a senior, needs medical, and is a bully breed. He does NOT want to give her up or put her down because she’s a sweet and happy dog and he loves her, but the funds are just not there to keep taking her to a vet when her registered owners failed her multiple times.

I’m looking to find some type of rescue or some type of funding to help this old girl, who according to the first owners is around 10 years old(they sent pics of her as a pup). I don’t need cash, but someone who could donate to a vets office under her name to sponsor her getting testing. If she needs to be put down, she will be given that release from pain, but we don’t want to see her being put down for something that can be treated! My friend wants to keep her and be by her side but really needs help as this all got thrown on him after he did the right thing and tried helping her after witnessing her get hit by his house.
