Pup for the Primary

Hi, my name is Shaun Sportel, proud principal of the Primary School in Galesburg Augusta Community Schools. G-A is comprised of two small towns that have come together making one great school district. This winter, we applied to Paws with a Cause and were awarded the honor of getting a facility dog to support our Primary School and our District as well. At the Primary School, we have about 500 students ranging from 3 year olds to 4th grade alone. What a wonderful opportunity to have a therapy dog to support our students in dealing with stress, processing mental health concerns, and boosting academic engagement.
