OUR STORY 

Mexico is a developing country, with many natural resources. The landscapes, the people and the upcoming middle class have made it very attractive for people to call it home or to find it interesting to make investments.

 
In Todos Santos-Pescadero, we are fortunate to have different types of Ecosystems, but we also have an amazing congregation of cultures from different parts of the world. There is magic into these small towns, which is not only given by the amazing Topography, Geology, Ecology and Biota found in here, but by people bringing fresh ideas, houses, business, schools, etc.

In recent years there has been a lack of equilibrium between growth and development. We have seen private and non- private “Developers” growing the town without investing in a suitable foundation.

We all have seen the fast- paced growth in the last couple of years, which has made more evident the lack of proper infrastructure to meet basic resources such as water, telecommunication services, security, health services, education, just to name a few.

 
There are some projects in place that have been dealing with this for many years, and this year we need you to help us even more to strengthen what I think is one of the most important ones: Waste Management.

 

Punto Verde is a project directed by Alex Miró that has shown amazing results for many years but that keeps needing your contributions to make it available and successful as it has been for many more years to come.

 

These are some of their achievements:

 

●     Prevent 1,500,000 plastic bottles to arrive to the ocean

●     Recycled 30 tons of plastic

●     Saved more than 1,000,000 liters of water

●     Prevent at least 750 trees from being cutted

●     Recycled 51 tons of paper and cardboard

●     Recycled 8600 transparent glass bottles

●     More than 8000 cans

 

To keep this hard work happening without compromising the ability of future generations to enjoy the area we call home as it is, we are pledging this year for $7,500 USD

 

The funds will be used as follows:

 

1.      Repair and maintain actual installations of Punto Verde (signs, truck, land and tools) that have been impacted by weather conditions and occasional burglary.

2.      To grow 100% the waste management operation by acquiring another land with the proper characteristics (water, power and topography) to have machinery and human force working correctly.

3.      Machinery and equipment needed for the recycling plant:

a.       Industrial mill to process plastics

b.      Equipment to compact cardboard, paper and plastics

c.       Lift truck to operate the recycling center in an efficient way

4.      Channel some of the money to cover medical expenses for a probable hip surgery of the Recycling Center Director: Alex Miró

5.      Operation and Administration expenses for 12 months

 

We truly hope that you can help us with your donations this year. Being a father has me thinking more than ever in the way we are using our resources. I am sure we all want the future generations to enjoy this beautiful part of the Earth.

Evitamos que 1,500.000 (un millón quinientas mil botellas) botellas de plástico LLEGUEN al mar arroyo playa o al basurero 

 

Somos de la idea que es mejor capturar las botellas de plástico antes de que lleguen al MAR A LA PLAYA O AL TERRENO O AL BASURERO……..

 

Al día de hoy hemos mandado a reciclar 30 TONELADAS de plástico lo que significa.…que millón y medio de DISPAROS/AMENAZAS MENOS al medio ambiente. 

 

Ademas…………..

Ahorro de mas de un millón de litros de agua

Y evitamos el CORTE/TALA DE 765 ARBOLES de tamaño medio

 

Hemos mandado a reciclar poco mas de 51 TONELADAS de papel y cartón…………….con el beneficio ambiental asociado de:

 

Por cada tonelada de papel o cartón nuevo, fabricado con materiales reciclados se ahorran………………..20 MIL lts de agua y la TALA/CORTE de 16 ARBOLES de tamaño medio.

 

Por lo tanto el beneficio ambiental es de: ahorro de mas de un MILLÓN de litros de agua

Así como evitar el CORTE DE 765 ARBOLES de tamaño medio.

INICIAMOS nuestra campaña de donativos 2021/2022 por la cantidad de $ 7,500 usd

cantidad que se va a destinar a:


1.- Reparar, señalizar y habilitar las instalaciones del Punto Verde, que cada año en verano, son impactadas por  lluvias vientos e incluso vandalismo. Mantenimiento a nuestro camión así como a todas las instalaciones del centro de acopio.


2.- Incrementar en un 100% el acopio y manejo de plásticos, cartón y papel. Para lograr esto es necesario conseguir otro terreno, además del Punto Verde, que el uso de suelo permita la instalación de maquinaria y que tenga facilidades para servicio de agua y energía. Superficie mínima de 2000 mts2.

Maquinaria y equipo necesarios para la planta de reciclaje:

2.1.- Un molino industrial para diferentes tipos de plásticos

2.2.- Máquina compactadora para cartón, papel y plásticos.

2.3.- Montacargas de 2 toneladas, para maniobras dentro del patio, carga y descarga de grandes pacas  así como cargar camiones de gran tamaño.
 

3.- Hacer frente a una posible cirugía de cadera y gastos médicos de nuestro director responsable Alex Miró  
 

4.- Solventar los gastos de operación y administración de nuestra organización por 12  meses.
