Hi my name is Andrea. How do I tell you my story? I was sent home yesterday after being told I might have two months to live. The Doctors in the US are telling me there is nothing more they can do for me. My Non Hodgkins Lymphoma is no longer responding to any treatments. This might dissuade a sane person but I am not prown to quitting and neither do I believe the doctors in the US know everything there is to know about treating cancer. I am seeking treatment outside of the United States at this point and of course my insurance will not cover the cost.
I hate asking anyone for anything. I grew up poor and I am ultra independent. I have learned through having cancer that at some point in everyone's life there is a time you need help. I refuse to give up and not seek any treatment that can heal me. I have a 17 year old son. He is a senior in high school. He will be graduating in May 2023. Can you image what he feels not knowing if his Mom is going to be there? He is so heartbroken. The last three years of my fight against cancer has been so hard on him.
Ultimately I need about $40,000 which to me is a horribly huge mountain to climb. If I could just reach 40,000 people willing to give $1 Or as a good friend pointed out it could be $25 from 1600 people. I could reach that goal. Sounds so easy right? With time quickly running out and this financial burden ahead of me I feel over whelmed.
