Help Pumpkin survive FIP
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sarah, this is my beloved cat Pumpkin who has had a rough start to life and he is only a year old. Pumpkin was a feral cat who was taken in by a rescue with his littermate smokey. In December of 2022, Pumpkin and his brother smokey were taken to the vet to be neutered when the vets found out that his brother smokey contracted and mutated feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). Smokey became very Ill, very quickly and so the rescue made the hard decision to put him to sleep on the recommendation of their vet. Pumpkin was healthy at the time and showed no signs of mutating the virus. Pumpkin went through the traumatic experience of losing his best friend, his brother who he spent every minute with. I adopted pumpkin from the rescue back in June of 2023. At the time, I was not looking for another cat but was drawn in by Pumpkins story. I needed to give him a home where he would thrive and be loved. Pumpkin now has 3 feline sisters who have grown attached to him. Over the past few weeks, pumpkins health has declined. He is severely malnourished, has quite a bit of muscle waisting, and can't keep food down most of the time. I took pumpkin to our vet yesterday where we did every diagnostic possible. Today we found out pumpkin has mutated FIP. We want to Give pumpkin the best possible quality of life and to do so we are moving forward with the FIP treatment for him. Pumpkin has been through so much in just one year. He is a fighter and has not given up. I know pumpkin can beat FIP. The cost of the treatment is going to be well beyond what we can afford. We are looking for any help in saving his life.
