We are raising funds for legal action to enforce Town of Southampton zoning laws when the Town Supervisor and Board refuse to do so.
A large gas station does not belong in a residential neighborhood and in fact, zoning laws prohibit it. But instead of enforcing zoning laws, clarifying the ownership structure of the development site, or enforcing its own stop work order, the Town has stood by as development on Westwoods proceeds at full speed. Even as acres are clear-cut, a road is built within 30 feet of neighbors' property, and giant gas tanks roll down a small residential street in the middle of the night, the Town does nothing.
Now the residents, who already pay taxes for the Town to enforce its laws, must take the steps that the Town should be taking and seek to force action.
We have hired Forchetti Deegan Terrana to represent us with a team led by the chairman of the firm's litigation practice. All funds raised will go towards legal fees and expenses.
