Pull Up a Sandbag provides peer-support retreats for British military veterans, allowing them to spend time with other veterans who understand the experiences and challenges that can come with serving in and leaving the Armed Forces.

Our retreats are based in Southern Thailand and bring small groups of veterans together for eight days of shared experiences, including outdoor activities, Muay Thai, camping, group discussions and time to simply reconnect with other veterans.

These retreats are about connection, purpose, shared experience and giving veterans the chance to spend time around people who understand a veterans mindset, without needing everything explained.

The first retreats have been funded personally, but to continue running them and offer places to more veterans, we now need support.

The £10,000 shown on this page isn't an end goal. It represents the level of funding we would ideally like to maintain while continuing to fund monthly retreats. We aim to keep the fund around this level to cover the costs of each retreat.

Pull Up a Sandbag is currently working towards becoming a registered charity. This fundraiser allows us to collect donations and continue funding retreats while the charity is being established, rather than putting the retreats on hold during the registration process.

Once the registered charity is established and able to receive donations directly, this fundraiser will no longer be used for new donations. The charity will take over our fundraising and all future donations will be made directly to the charity.

Donations made through this fundraiser will go towards the costs of running the retreats, including accommodation, local transport and activities.

All future trustees have confirmed that I, Jody, receive no personal financial gain or salary from Pull Up a Sandbag, and no funds raised are used for my personal benefit. All funds raised are used solely to support the operation and delivery of Pull Up a Sandbag veteran retreats.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue bringing veterans together and working towards providing funded veteran retreats every month.
