Pull Through for Joseph Fillmore

Hi, My name is Kwesi Champ Ellison. In the posted photo I'm the guy with the dreadlocks. I'm 35 years old from Corpus Christi, tx. This gofundme page is dedicated to my 18 years young cousin Joseph Fillmore. He's the kid to my left(Second from the right) with the big smile. Also in the photo is his father Stephen Fillmore (first from right side of photo) and Stephen's second oldest son (17 year old) Dashawn Fillmore (First from the left side of photo). Last night my little cousin and his brother decided to go out and get some groceries from the H-E-B just around the corner from their house to make them something to eat just before bed. They chose to ride their bikes to the store and on the way to the store Joseph was struck from behind by a vehicle (who tried to evade the scene and luckily some good samaritans made the driver stop for accountability) and resulted in Atlanto-occipital dislocation, basically internal decapitation. As you could imagine this is a devastating blow to the young man as well as the family. In this photo we celebrated Joseph's graduation from high school back in May of 2021. Joseph was soon off to begin his life as a young adult in college and now he is currently fighting for his life. Me and my family are doing everything possible to see Joseph pull through this nightmare and we are humbly asking for all the help we can receive to make his survivability possible.

The current situation is the local doctors don't have the expertise to give Joseph the treatment that he needs so we are trying to out source our options to a facility located in San Antonio or Houston were Joseph will be halo flighted in order to receive the care that is necessary for him to pull through.
