Hi, my name is Macey. I was awakened early this morning by a very loud explosion and glass breaking. The apartment shook me to my feet, then immediately back to my knees. ‘What is going on? Is someone shooting into my apartment?’ I have no clue what’s going on. As I corner the end of the hallway into my living room, I hear commands being yelled out. It’s the SWAT team at the neighbor's door. I hear another loud boom and then I hear the sound of gushing water. Two pipes have busted and my apartment is starting to flood. I ran to a window and was trying to get the attention of an officer. I was told to get away from the window. ‘But my apartment is flooding!! Please turn the water off!’ It took another 15 minutes before an officer was able to help and shut the water off. But my entire apartment was already ankle-deep in water. The tear gas was creeping in now, my eyes are on fire, and I can barely catch my breath. My chest feels like it’s on fire. The officers let my partner and me leave our apartment while they finished their job.

My apartment has no front door, the windows in the living room are busted out, it is flooded by water, and now, no access to water because of the pipes being busted. I cannot stay here like this.

I am traumatized, devastated, and completely beside myself. I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

Your donations will help me with having somewhere dry, secure, and safe to stay/sleep with running water for a couple of days. Your donations will help replace food that was lost while the power was down. Donations will go towards replacing my front door and two living room windows, to help cover the cost of having flood restoration come to clean up all the water, and for replacing personal items damaged by the water. Your donations will help give me a sense of security and peace of mind.

My world is in shambles and we just need help through this rough and scary incident.
