On behalf of Citywide Service Solutions, I am cycling 331.8km over 3 days (19-21 Nov) with PukaUp with the mission to end suicide and honour the 3318 people who died by suicide in 2019. With one in five Australian workers currently experiencing a mental health condition, I am excited to help PukaUp create positive change in Australian workplaces.
The funds raised through this bike ride will go towards the launch of a game-changing evidence-based, preventative wellbeing course designed specifically for Australian businesses – “Foundations of Wellbeing”.
The reason for my participation is both personal and to assist others with their Wellbeing and Mental Health. I personally suffered from Mental Health issues early in my professional career, and the support channels and knowledge we have today would have being great help with my battles, but if it wasn’t for my wife insisting I seek professional help, I’m not sure where I would have ended up. So I applaud Wayne and his team for establishing this movement
Organizations like PukaUp and others are fantastic avenues for people who are struggling with their mental health to reach out too for support and coping mechanisms to deal with their anxieties and mentl health. What better way to clear the head than doing a few hundred kilometers on the bike!
