Because of Covid-19, The Pug has decided to temporarily shut its doors. Please assist us in lending a hand to The Pug and its employees so they can weather this crisis.
For more than a decade Tony T and his employees have made the Pug a welcome home-away-from-home for neighbors, businesses, charities and friends of the H St. community. It’s a place to gather, to laugh, to cheer (Go Nats), to deservedly or undeservedly get side-eyed by certain unnamed bartenders for breaking cosmic bar etiquette or for making seemingly innocent requests (no you may not get sound on for your shitty college football team when there’s a curling tournament on ESPN4). Most importantly it is an extended living room for the neighborhood, a place for people to say hello and get to know one another as friends.
Who we are?
Friends of The Pug and the H St. community
What are we asking for?
For friends of The Pug to chip in and contribute what you can so that The Pug and its small staff of employees can sustain itself during the shutdown.
Why we’re asking for your help?
Currently there are very few resources for many bar and restaurant workers in DC who have been shut down from work because of the virus. Without wages and tips, many DC restaurant employees won’t be able to afford rent and other expenses. We want to offer help to The Pug which has given back so much to the community
Who will the money go to?
Staff at The Pug.
