On January 11, 2020 an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 shook Puerto Rico, and it caused a huge rock to separate from the mountain and slide into my parents home. Ismael Santiago and Mary Lugo (my sweet parents) were supposed to receive help to relocate, but after multiple attempts they've been denied assistance. They suffered some material losses, but the hardest thing has been knowing that my parents have been displaced. The Department of Natural Resources of  Puerto Rico told them it is not safe to stay there. I live in Holyoke, Massachusetts and can only help them so much, we are making a call to my community, Puerto Rico and whoever feels in their heart to support my parents. Help my parents find a new home and cover relocation costs. Every penny counts.

El pasado 11 de enero de 2020, un terremoto de magnitud 6.0 sacudió a Puerto Rico y provocó un deslizamiento de piedras que rompió parte de la vivienda de mis padres. Se supone que iban a recibir las ayudas pertinentes para moverse a otro lugar, lamentablemente no fue así. Las ayudas fueron denegadas. Han tenido perdidas materiales, pero los más difícil fue ver a mis padres ser desalojados. El Departamento de Recursos Naturales y Ambientales de Puerto Rico, les dice que no es seguro estar allí. Hago un llamado a mi comunidad, al pueblo de Puerto Rico y al que en su corazón sienta brindarles la mano. Cada centavo cuenta.
