The workers at the Pueblo Chieftain have been working diligently to bring the community updates on the spread and impact of the coronavirus. While working on these stories, our workers received notice from our company, Gannett, that it intends to cut hours and cut pay by 25 percent for April, June and May.
Our labor union is heading into bargaining with Gannett over possible changes to these reductions. In the meantime, our staff still has rent, medical bills and other monthly costs that they need covered.
