Hi Everyone!
My friends and family already know that Puddle, my 7 year old minuature poodle mix, is my very best friend. Puddle has been in my life since she was a puppy, and we have grown up together. She has been with me through every up and down, and has brought me joy in every moment. She makes everyone who meets her smile.
On Monday 1/23 my tough little girl took an excited leap off of my bed and stopped walking on her rear right leg. I took her to the vet later that week hoping for good news but instead found out that my baby had torn her cruciate ligament. This is the ligament that supports her knee. After speaking with an orthopedic vet I learned that the surgery to repair this tear will cost at least $4700.
The alternative would be to let my dog live a life of pain and a life without the use of her right rear leg. This would also mean she would no longer get to do any of the things she loves... long walks, chasing birds in the yard, wearing herself out playing fetch. This is a dog who loves to run and play. She is already showing signs of depression and is in pain every day she has to wait for this surgery.
I will do anything in the world for this dog. She deserves to spend the latter
half of her life doing all the things she loves most. Although I don't have the money for this surgery, I will do EVERYTHING I can to give my dog this chance.
Please understand that anything helps, and I am so grateful for every donation. It is not easy for me to ask for help, but if you have met Puddle, or had a dog best friend yourself I am sure you understand that our pets deserve the world.
All funds raised will go directly toward getting Puddle this critical surgery. Any funds raised over Puddle's medical bills will be donated to PAWS Chicago, a no-kill shelter in Chicago.
