Puck's Top Surgery

Hi! My name is Puck and I am a trans non-binary 23 year old from Santiago, Chile. I have been living in Port Townsend since 2021, when I came here for boatbuilding school. Now I work at the Shipwright’s Coop and live at Froghill farm. I love to share bountiful meals, rock climb, make ceramics, wrestle in the sand, cuddle with my friends... and DJ parties that get people dancing to my favorite latino music.

I started identifying as non-binary when I first came to PT, and am so grateful for the warm and supportive community I have found here. I have been trying to get top surgery for a while but have run into many obstacles with doctors, insurance, money, and etc. I finally managed to get a surgery date with a good doctor in Seattle for November 7, 2025 and am so excited!

I have been saving up for this for a while, have insurance through my job that helps me cover the medical costs, and my friends and family are around to support me in the process. However, this is a big surgery and there are medical and other costs that add up.

I know there’s a lot going on in the world and most of us are doing our best to make ends meet, but I’m here to ask for your help… Any support is appreciated. This money will be used to help cover medical bills ($2500 out of pocket aside from what is covered by my insurance deductible and work HSA), the hotel I have to stay at in Seattle before and after surgery ($500), and my living costs for my time off work (I get partially, retroactively paid for the time off for recovery, but as I mentioned, I will be mostly using savings).

If you can’t send money but want to cook a meal or support in another way please check out my mealtrain or reach out to my sister (Oli, contact in the bottom of this page)! If you or someone you know has hot tips about surgery, prep and/or recovery; movie, book or tv show recs; or happens to have useful things like pregnancy pillows or stuffed animals or entertaining things to help me pass my 4-6 weeks in bed, please hit up Oli as well (I’m not very good at laying in bed).

Thank you for your time and support. Love y’all.
