Puck cancer! Chris Kocher cancer treatment
Donation protected
My name is Paul Calli and I am raising money for my friend Chris Kocher and his family to use toward payment of his medical expenses for cancer treatment.
In 2023 Chris was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. The cancer metastasized quickly and spread throughout his body. Chris regularly undergoes numerous sessions of chemotherapy and radiation immune therapy treatments, and is fighting for his life. The funds raised here will be used to directly pay co-payments and related medical expenses for the treatments, the costs of which are mounting significantly and rapidly, so that Chris can focus all his energy on his battle.
Who is Chris Kocher?
Chris is 61 years old and hails from Peabody, Massachusetts. An avid hockey player from his youth, Chris today still plays the game he loves, where he earned the nickname “Shrek” from his hockey brothers due to his hulking size, his boisterous demeanor, and his big heart.
Chris joined the United States Army in 1982 and spent 16 weeks training in Fort Benning, Georgia, quickly rising to Platoon Leader. A light infantry unit, Chris’s Platoon was sent to train at Fort Ord, California, as a unit to be dispatched anywhere in the world on 24 hours notice. Chris and his unit were sent to Panama, South Korea, and Japan. Chris was discharged from the Army under Honorable conditions. Chris remains in close contact with his surviving Platoon members.
Chris’s Family:
Chris is married to Dayna and together since 2004 they own and operate a family business in South Florida that was started by their family in 1992 after a devastating natural disaster struck South Florida. The family business sells and delivers dry ice and related essential refrigeration products primarily to hospitals, clinics, and restaurants, routinely but also during times of emergency to ensure essential medical supplies remain refrigerated and viable for those in need.
Chris and Dayna have one child, Alex, who is 21 and the apple of Chris’s eye and a big reason Chris continues to battle like a warrior. Alex attends Florida Atlantic University where he is a defensive end on the Division 1 FAU Owls football team.
As small business owners of modest means, the cost of the cancer treatments is overwhelming and should not be a source of anxiety. Any amount of support will make a significant difference in Chris’s life and that of his family.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Chris and for your support.
And fuck cancer.
