Project Summary
We are seeking support to publish a book featuring original drawings ( 100-200) made by Palestinian children during the First Intifada (1987–1992). These drawings—created amid curfews, loss, and hope—capture how children saw their world under occupation. They are visual testimonies of resilience, pain, and imagination in the face of oppression.
Publishing this collection will preserve an important part of Palestinian history and give new generations insight into the human impact of that period—through the eyes of its youngest witnesses.
Objectives
Preserve the original drawings through high-quality digitization and printing.
Publish a (Arabic–English) art book that includes historical notes and context.
Educate and Inspire by distributing the book to schools, libraries, and cultural centers worldwide.
Estimated Budget:
$18000
Funds will cover digitization, editing, design, translation, printing, and promotion.
All contributions go directly to the publication—none to administrative costs.
Impact
This book will:
Safeguard a rare visual archive of the First Intifada.
Amplify the voices of children who lived through it.
Build cultural awareness and solidarity through art.
