Responses to Ling & Lobo:

"Gordon, you have a wonderful voice here and a compelling story with a great eye for verisimilitude. The writing is  sweeping and cinematic. "
Barbara Bottner,  Children's Book Author and writing coach, California

"I could hear your animated voice reading the tales like Hans Christian Anderson.  You have written a beautiful Gift! "
Rhoda Jacobs, Spiritual and Martial Arts teacher, Todos Santos, Baja California

"I run a nature program for home-schooled children up in Quebec, Canada. The ages range from 5-9 yrs. I played your Ling and Lobo story for them at our end of year sleep over party as they were all tucked into their sleeping bags in my living room (about 11 of them, including my two boys) - they loved it so much they wanted to hear it again in the morning. It matches with what I teach in terms of respecting and connecting to the Earth. I teach them to listen with their heart when they are sitting with the trees, rocks, plants; always to ask before taking and to balance all taking with giving something back (a song, love, a smile, a natural food gift for the animals, cornmeal, nature art...) I was so delighted to find all these messages in your tale. There really is something magical about the story. It stirs something ancient inside."
Laurie Doane, Chelsea, Quebec

"You are a talented and deeply imaginative writer. Thank you for the book and
for your special creative talent"
Niki Berg, Photographer, NYC

"I loved your book!!!!  It took me in and I could not stop reading it and this is coming from someone that stopped reading and had extreme dyslexia growing up."
Brenda Pareja, Spiritual Teacher, California

Hello Friends,

Thank you for taking a moment to consider my campaign!

I am Gordon Scarritt, author of Ling & Lobo and the Udumbara Flower, a spiritual fantasy book for children of all ages, which I self-published in 2014.  This story is only the first of many I have written for what I plan to be a long running series. When the pandemic began, and my other businesses died overnight, I returned to writing two sequel stories to Ling & Lobo. The second one is nearly finished and the third one I will finish while living near Mt. Shasta this summer, as it is about treasure hidden within a magic mountain. And make no mistake, Mt. Shasta is a magic mountain.

When all three stories are finished in November, I will put them together into a foundation novel for the epic series and self-publish the book by the beginning of February 2021.

The first story was so well received, that the universal response was “when is the next one coming out.” The beneficiaries from the success of this crowd funding drive will be the kids and adults who love adventure stories of this kind. To get a sense of what the stories are like, imagine Harry Potter on the Silk Road. However the magic is not made up, but true representations of actual spiritual and shamanic practices of our collective wisdom traditions.

Obviously I will benefit also, as most of the funds ($15,000-$12,000) will be used to cover all the expenses of publication and marketing through the end of the year. The other $3000 will be used to supplement ( I have have already invested $10,000 of my savings in this trip) my travel and living expenses during the summer (July through October) so that I can focus all my energies on getting the book into the public’s hands.  I would like to raise $3000 by September 30,  2020 and the balance by November 1, 2020.

Like the water to prime the pump, your support will be life affirming for me. I will be able to transition to full time writing as the means to support myself while giving something of true joy and value back to the world.  Everyone who contributes will receive an autographed and numbered paperback copy of the first printing of the book. For those who contribute three figure donations I’ll send you a  numbered and autographed hard copy edition of the first printing.

I know this book will succeed and it will be in no small part because of your kindness and generosity. My gratitude for your help will be forever boundless, because it will set me free to write and share these inspiring stories, the deeper meaning of which is to demonstrate to us all how to navigate our present moment chaotic world in transition with grace and love for the benefit of Nature and All.

If you choose not to contribute at this time, but want to assist me to reach my goal, you can help by forwarding the campaign to friends who might wish to.

Thank you for your consideration,

Gordon
