I am trying to publish a children's picture book called "Run, Sparky, Run!" This will cost me money up front and I hope you can help defray some of the costs to help make this dream a reality.
Sparky is an inquisitive baby squirrel learning about the world around her. Sparky’s mother tries to teach her, her brother Scooter, and her sister Caroline that the world is a dangerous place and that you have to run from it. While Sparky’s siblings are eager to comply, she can’t help but question, “Why?” When she grows up and sets out on her own, Sparky finally realizes the wisdom of her mother’s lessons. At last, Sparky finds her new home and discovers that sometimes running is just for fun.
I originally wrote this book sixteen years ago to help my younger nephew learn to read. The depiction of Eastern Gray Squirrels in "Run, Sparky, Run!" is scientifically correct regarding their life cycle, behavior, and diet, and I am passionate about representing them in a realistic art style.
