We are trying to save up money for life saving treatment for our three year Finn. He has FIC which means his bladder and urethra gets inflamed and he cannot pee. He has been blocked three times now in his life and we are hoping to find a more permanent solution like intensive care at an animal hospital or a PU surgery if needed. We love our guy and we appreciate every single person who is donating and sharing. Here’s to Finn’s happy and long life ㅤᵕ̈
Feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC) is a bladder disorder that affects 250,000–500,000 cats annually in North America. It's the most common urinary issue for young to middle-aged cats and the leading cause of feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD). Symptoms include:
Urination: Straining, frequent urination, bloody or discolored urine, urinating in unusual places
Pain: Licking the urinary opening
Urinary blockage: An emergency, especially for male cats
FIC's cause is unknown, but possible factors include stress, bladder wall inflammation, or bladder lining defects. Symptoms usually subside within a week, but some cats experience chronic idiopathic cystitis, with symptoms lasting for months or recurring frequently.
