How One Law Enforcement Veteran is Healing PTSD by sharing his wild story with the world.
We are producing a feature length documentary and numerous online informative video clips which tell the story of a dedicated law enforcement officer whose life was altered tragically by PTSD and how he escaped the dark clutch of prescription meds to rebuild his life again.
For 35 years Brent Pace served as a law enforcement officer in sublime, rural communities of Utah and Colorado. His original intent to serve was out of a sense of pride in America and a profound desire to uphold the law and provide safe communities for families and citizens.
He entered the world of law enforcement for all the right reasons.
Little did he know this journey would take him into the shadows of humanity and would leave his psyche struggling to process the good and the bad on both sides of the law.
Constantly under extreme stress as an undercover officer the daily psychological extremes in dealing with homicides, suicides, drug runners, gruesome accidents and more, Brent eventually found himself struggling with severe headaches, depression, and numerous other symptoms of PTSD. He was diagnosed with PTSD and would eventually be prescribed countless pharmaceuticals for a seemingly endless stream of symptoms. It wasn't long before he felt 'dead to the world'.
PTSD is often associated with war veterans but rarely spoken of with respect to law enforcement officers here at home in the United States. The effects can be extreme not only on the law enforcement officers but with their families as well.
In Brent's case the symptoms were so extreme that he felt compelled to retire and for the following two years barely got out of bed. He'd lost all sense of life, felt dead to the world, and it was only his little Granddaughter that kept him going.
Brent, his wife of all those desperate years Joni and their children are committed to sharing this journey they've been on. For the first time ever a cop who's been down the rabbit hole is coming out to share his experiences that most cops will never speak about and to share his rebirth.
This is a riveting and provocative story which takes great courage on Brent's part to reveal. It is his intent to help others heal through his experiences and the revelations of his loving family.
We are seeking funding for the continued and to be completed documentary film production of "PTSD: The Brent Pace Story".
This documentary will be produced over a 12 month period centered on the story of Brent Pace and his journey to recovery. The feature length documentary will include interviews from numerous law enforcement officers suffering from PTSD, medical doctors, legislators and experts in the study of PTSD.
We've already begun filming interviews and are seeking funding for continued production, post-production and final delivery of the documentary to be released worldwide on traditional broadcast exhibition as well as streaming media networks, DVD and other forms of exhibition.
The root purpose of this documentary production is to get the word out. PTSD is not isolated to combat veterans but is a growing problem among all law enforcement officers across America.
