PTSD Awareness Art Documentary
I'm a bit of an artist - and I always try to do something positive with what I create. I've donated some to cancer charities and wanted to expand this time around. So I'm creating a collection of drawings (most likely 3x5') of individuals who have PTSD. The purpose of the images will be to look at them and feel happiness and hope and to know that a trauma does not define anyone and things get better. These drawings will be sold, and a portion will go to PTSD awareness.
I am also going to create a documentary around it. So you wont know the source of the subjects PTSD until you watch the video. The point of this is to really show how wide PTSD is spread and that you can still have joy and hope and that people are not alone. Things get better! Any money received from the documentary will be donated as well.
A lot of people didn't have stories - but wanted to donate to this project so I thought this would be the easiest way. The money from this campaign will go directly to my video team - helping with travel costs to interview the subjects (which are spread across the US) and any equipment that we may need to rent/purchase.
Because I didn't want to ask for something with nothing in return: anyone who donates will be listed in the credits as a financial backer of the film. And I also have a page on my website where you can commission paintings. http://kolaweisbrich.com/help-support-ptsd-awareness/
