Ray’s Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Sheneen Young and I am raising funds on behalf of our family for our handsome and fun loving brother Ray.

On Friday, May 23rd Ray was seriously injured in a violent assault on George Street. The results of his injuries are significant. He has over 17 fractures in his face, a broken jaw, a severed nerve that’s irreparable, considerable bruising around his neck where he was choked and broken ribs. Not to mention the severe trauma that comes with this type of incident. With that said the one thing they didn’t break is his beautiful spirit and we know this is what will get him through the coming weeks.

He has undergone surgery receiving 11 plates in his face alone. The Doctors believe he will require a second surgery in a couple weeks to place his jaw correctly.

For anyone who knows Ray knows what kind of person he is and for those who don’t I have the pleasure of sharing his story.

Ray is a father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and the most important title he carries is poppy. Ray works incredibly hard holding two jobs. He is a full-time Sales Associate at Capital Subaru and a part-time bartender at Topsail Billards. Both positions are compensated by commissions and tips. With a significant road to recovery ahead of him he is not able to work and provide for himself and his family.

Ray needs to focus on getting well and not the financial burden that comes with not being able to work. He will be months recovering from his injuries and to help him get through this difficult time we are asking for your help!

Ray did not deserve this, he is a man who helps others with no expectation for anything in return. It is now our time to help him.
