Jimmy has started the chemotherapy and radiation battle this past week after recovering from a required dental surgery. He is so grateful for the donations and support you have provided.

During tough times like these we need to support one another. Please take a few moments this weekend to have Jimmy( and Colleen) in your thoughts and hearts, it is going to be a difficult week next week.

My name is Dana Coulter, and I have known Jimmy Timmins for more than 25 years. My family considers Jimmy to be a family member. Jimmy and my sister Colleen have already struggled through Jimmy being diagnosed with a genetic eye condition (maculopathy) in both eyes. His condition has progressively gotten worse, and he is legally blind and can no longer drive. Colleen has been driving Jimmy to all appointments, work, and any other recreational activities. They never fussed or told that many people.

Recently, Jimmy went to the dentist and a tumor was found in his mouth. Unfortunately, the tumor turned out to be cancerous. Many years ago, Jimmy already battled cancer and beat it.

Since Jimmy can’t drive legally, he works for a business in Bayville, walking distance from where he lives. This job does not offer:

medical benefits

paid time off

life insurance

This will be an extremely difficult burden since Jimmy will need both radiation and chemotherapy treatment 5-6 days a week for a few months, with no sick pay.

Sloan Kettering Cancer Center told Jimmy today that he will not be able to surgically remove the tumor due to not being able to swallow if they were to attempt surgery.

Jimmy and Colleen are staying as positive as possible. We all are.

We ask that you help in any way possible, even a $10 gas trip donation will help.

Personally, I know of many times when Jimmy has helped my mom (who lives next door) in any way he can. After my father died a few years ago, Jimmy helped whenever he could.
