Like many families, mine has a history of genetic Cancer. However Cancer, genetic or otherwise - effects so many of us, in so many different ways; especially as we get older...which is why Kitten Baird is hoping to cycle the 37 mile Blue Route in Chris Hoy's Tour de 4, Glasgow, September 7th 2025, to benefit both the young and old in respect of raising money for Cancer Research UK. Meow! I don't like asking people, friends, for money; far too much of that going on these days. However, and not only with my family in mind, the wheels that I am turning on this ride once belonged to a dear friend and colleague who died too soon from this disease. I'd like to make, and ask friends to consider making, a contribution with these things in mind. I am riding in memory of May Baird, my mother, who suffered from Lymphodemia as an after effect of breast cancer that try as it might never broke her spirit; and for David R, whose wheels accompany me on the journey as he himself unfortunately cannot. Help Kitten Baird (!) purr over the finish line, but more importantly, help this charity to manage this disease.
