Our Mom, Marcela, was a strong, healthy, and very active 47 year old woman.

Early January, she was diagnosed with stage 4 EHE, Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma, a very rare type of blood cancer. Over the course of several months, she was in and out of the hospital several times where she received 3 different types of chemotherapy treatments, and endured several various types of procedures to relieve side effects from the cancer. Unfortunately the chemotherapy and her many treatments were not successful in eliminating her cancer. Our mom, Marcela, has now gone home to be with Jesus.

We would like to thank you all for your prayers and support throughout this extremely difficult time. While we are celebrating the life she had and the amazing person she was, we are filled with grief at the loss of such a wonderful woman and mother. We were not prepared for the expenses we would incur while caring for our mom throughout her fight with cancer over the last several months and the funeral expenses that are coming. We are asking you to consider making a donation, to help ease the burden of these expenses as they are heavier than we imagined.

We have medical expenses from her at-home care while living with us during this time, along with the center she was moved to in her last days. My younger sister just started college this month and I know our Mom would have loved to support her through this journey. We will also need to pay for her cremation and Celebration of Life gathering.
