Help change the lives of Devin and his baby girl

Devin, a 26-year-old single dad with a nine month old baby girl needs assistance. Devin is unable to work, and has indeed been warned by doctors not to work, due to having Pectus Excavatum, a progressive condition where the breast bone sinks into the chest and squeezes the heart and lungs.

The operation to correct Devin's condition involves detaching the ribs from the sternum, and breaking the sternum at its most severe bend. The sternum is subsequently strengthened and supported with a metal bar to hold it in the correct position, and then the ribs are reattached. Devin will be scheduled for this life-saving surgery and has been informed that once the procedure is complete, he will be unable to work for a further

three years as healing in these cases is a long and painful process. He is young though so there is great hope for a more normal and productive life ahead of him.

He has applied for disability, but unfortunately the wheels of government are grinding slowly, especially post-COVID, and Devin has had little success thus far. Devin's friends and family help where they can, but the money has run out, and he needs funds for food and living expenses for himself and his baby daughter, as well as gas money to make to his numerous doctors appointments. We are setting a goal of 10,000. It is our hope that amount will be enough to see him through this current crisis and to supplement the financial assistance he will hopefully receive as he spends the next three years recovering.
