housing after traumatic brain injur

Hello,
For those who know me I am an Occupational Therapist and am also 9 credits away from receiving my post professional master's degree in Occuapational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University.  Over winterbreak, actually the first day spring classes were to start, I was in a bad motor vehicle accident on my way to work at Cedar Ridge.  It was early, about 7 am and I appearently pulled out in front of someone and they were unable to avoid hitting me.  Luckily, they did not have any injuries requiring hospitalization, but I was un-responsive and was intubated in the field.  I was admitted to the hospital ICU department, then to inpatient rehab 1/20 and then to skilled nursing 2/13.  I don't remember any of the accident or of my rehabilitation until about the 20th of Febraruy a light bulb went off.  Appearently, from listening to people who saw me during my hospitlization and rehab, I am a very lucky person, as I suffered a sub-arachnoid hemmorage and tramatic brain injury.  I am a walking miracle and was disharged home from the nursing home on 3/7 with home health speech services.  Because of crappy insurance, I did not start speech therapy until yestersday.  I had my follow up with my primary care physician Obisike this week and he did not clear me to go back to work yet, he wants me to have 4 weeks of speech and follow up with him again in a month.  I have spent what little I had in savings.  I just found out that I do qualify for medicaid insurance and food stamps, but am still waiting on if I can qualify for any cash assistance.  I have not paid my March rent, and will not be able to pay my April rent.  A friend and co-worker of mine suggested that I do this request, even though I hate to ask for money.  I do not want to loose my housing as I need it, and while I want to return to work now, I'm not permitted.  I have three dogs that I don't want to loose either and I know that many of you provided donations for dog food while I was hospitalized.
