On the 4th of January 2022, I lost my beautiful mum to suicide after she developed psychosis — a heartbreaking and sudden decline that changed everything. My mum was kind, loving, full of life and laughter. Her mental health struggles came swiftly and intensely, and despite our efforts to get help, she slipped through the cracks of a system that so often fails those in urgent need.

Psychosis is a deeply misunderstood condition, and the stigma surrounding both psychosis and suicide can leave individuals and families feeling isolated, ashamed, and unsupported. I’m creating this GoFundMe to raise awareness, offer hope, and help drive change.

What This Fundraiser Supports:
Psychosis and Suicide Awareness Campaigns
Supporting educational resources and outreach programs to help people better understand psychosis and the urgent need for early intervention and compassionate care.
Support for Individuals and Families
Funding mental health charities and grassroots organisations that offer real-time support to those struggling with psychosis or suicidal thoughts, as well as their loved ones.

Advocacy for Mental Health Reform
Helping to push for better access to mental health care, crisis intervention services, and post-crisis support – because no one should have to face this alone or feel abandoned by the system.

Honouring My Mum’s Memory
Every donation is also a tribute to my mum’s life — to who she was before illness took hold, and a way to ensure her story becomes a catalyst for hope, not silence.

Why This Matters:
Mental illness does not discriminate, and psychosis can happen to anyone. But too often, it’s met with fear instead of empathy. With your help, we can reduce stigma, educate communities, and create safer spaces for people to speak up and seek help before it’s too late.
Whether you can donate, share this campaign, or simply take a moment to read and reflect — thank you. Your support means the world, and it could help save a life.

No one should feel alone. It's time for change. Let’s start now.
