Hello, my name is Bethany, and I have been living with severe anxiety for as long as I can remember. What many people see as everyday situations—school, social events, even time with family—can feel overwhelming and sometimes impossible for me.

Over the years, my anxiety has affected nearly every part of my life. I’ve missed out on opportunities, experiences, and moments that matter because I was consumed by constant “what if” thoughts and fear. It’s been a daily battle, both mentally and emotionally.

I have worked hard to seek help, meeting with multiple psychiatrists and therapists. While I continue to do everything I can to manage my anxiety, professionals have confirmed that my condition is severe and significantly impacts my quality of life.

That’s why I am hoping to get a psychiatric service dog.

A trained service dog could help me in ways that go far beyond companionship. They can recognize early signs of anxiety or panic attacks, provide grounding during overwhelming moments, and help me feel safe navigating daily life. Having a constant, trained support by my side would give me a sense of independence and stability that I’ve never experienced before.

Unfortunately, the cost of obtaining and training a psychiatric service dog is very high, and it’s not something I can afford on my own. That’s why I am reaching out for help.
