Help for Anya- updated May 9th

Donation protected
5/9 update: The outpouring of support and well wishes is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Thank you to everyone for your support of Anya and her family. Last night she was able to open her eyes for a sec, eat some soup and mumble a couple words. She is able to move her legs and arms. Each day will bring something new and little by little she will hopefully get her strength back. Doctor estimates 6 mo- 18 mo recovery as the brain recovers very slowly. Her girls were able to visit her last night and see their mom for the first time since this all happened.

5/7 update: Anya had a second surgery yesterday to relieve the swelling on her brain. She came through it well. We are hopeful her memory and motor skills are in tact. She came off the breathing tube today and can breath on her own. Now the recovery begins. She is still being kept in Neuro ICU as her breathing gets stronger.

Thank you to this amazing community for the generosity and support you have shown to this family. They now have enough to pay 3 months rent of 3k per month. If you have the means to keep donating and sharing their story- we can help collect a bit more for living and medical expenses while Dima looks for work and helps Anya through future rehab.

Hi my name is Elena, my niece Anya was in a terrible fall Thursday hitting her head causing a crack in her skull and rupturing her arterial vein. This caused an Epidural Hemotoma in her brain and required emergency surgery Thursday evening. She was close to death when we found her. She has since been in John Muir Neuro ICU and has not woken due to the severe trauma to her head.

Some background about Anya and her family. Anya and her husband Dima and their beautiful girls, Kseniia (12) and Ulyana (8) fled the Ukraine War last summer. I sponsored them to the States thru a federal program United for Ukraine. This allowed them to come here for at least 2 years and obtain work and a temporary social to stay safe from the bombings in their town of Odessa. Their status of Parolees allows work however most employers shy away from hiring them as they know it's a temporary status although Dima is a university graduate with a degree in logistics. He is willing to obtain any job to help his family establish their lives here.

With this horrific accident, Anya is unable to work and her husband is at her bedside as you can imagine. They left everything behind when they fled their homeland and now find themselves is this tricky situation with rent and living expenses looming.

I would like to call on our community to help them with 3 months rent and living expense while we await Anya's recovery which is estimated to take months and we are unsure what her outcome will be. Please help with any amount if you can...
