I never thought I would have to do this, but here we are. So if you have a minute to let me indulge you with my story, I would be grateful.
The last few years have been particularly hard on me mentally and physically. I have been through the throes of getting my mental health in check for 5 years, but I needed to work on myself physically as well.
That has come at a particularly intense cost. I have been a Type 1 diabetic since 9 years old, so 26 years, I’ve known what it’s like to have to face obstacles every day, and thankfully, my insurance has helped me a lot with it and I’m getting that help, and trying to keep my kidneys, eyes, and blood sugars in check.
But as of around Christmas of this year, my world got flipped upside down quite a bit as I was diagnosed with Stage 2 lymphoma after chasing an unknown case of hematuria. As of right now, the bills are ever surmounting with what I owe to the doctors offices, MRI’s, CAT scans, PET scans, and I haven’t even started radiation yet, which are surely going to be mammoth.
I write this request with great humility and frustration at our healthcare system, putting out a request for help as I will be taking off work to start radiation, and have just one less thing to worry about. I do not have an exact number in mind that will cover the cost of all of my treatment, aftercare, and medical costs, but I’m currently sitting at about 1282.06 in debt to current providers.
I thank you for listening to my story and taking time out of your day to help. I hope I can return to some sense of normality, and I have some of the best friends and support systems that anyone could ever hope for.
Thank you again, and have a great day!
(If the goal is reached, I will increase it incrementally for tax and transaction fee purposes)
