Hi everyone,

Asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I’ve reached a point where I can’t carry this alone anymore.

When my husband Paul and I bought our home, it felt like we were living our version of the American dream. He had worked at the same job for over five years, and we were proud to build a life for our kids on a piece of land we loved. But within two years, his company downsized and his entire shift was eliminated. We held on with savings, and eventually he found another job. It paid less, but it was closer to home and gave him back nights with our family.

Unfortunately, at the end of March 2025, Paul’s new company announced layoffs. Because he had the least seniority, he was the first to be let go.

Since then, I’ve found remote work, and Paul has taken temp jobs and odd jobs while applying everywhere he can. But despite his best efforts, he hasn’t gotten a single call back. Our savings ran out in April, and we’ve missed multiple mortgage payments. We are now in forbearance with our mortgage company, doing everything possible to hold on to our home.

On top of this, life has thrown us one heartbreak after another:

Our truck’s power steering pump has failed three times and now sits broken down in the yard.

Our Jeep gave out and we can’t even afford a diagnosis.

My daughter’s cat was diagnosed with diabetes.

Our beloved dog developed cancer, and we had to make the painful choice to let him go.

I know so many families are struggling right now, and I don’t take lightly the act of asking for help. But the truth is, we’re at risk of losing everything we’ve worked for. I am terrified of what that means for my children.

We are asking for help to:

Catch up on missed mortgage payments

Cover essential bills and groceries

Repair at least one of our vehicles so Paul can continue job hunting

Every single dollar truly makes a difference. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page helps more than you know.

From the bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping us fight to keep our home.

With love and gratitude,
Emma
