Support Ecuador through Penn State

Your donation will be directed:

To buy medical supplies and materials to perform surgeries, stabilize injured people and build shelters to work on them. These are needed by a team of Ecuadorian doctors. An American doctor, Dr. Fuller, specialized in emergencies of this nature is also part of this team. He went to Haiti when the earthquake occurred and to Indonesia when the tsunami hit. He is part of the International Medical Corps, the third largest American international charity.

On the night of Saturday, April 16th an earthquake with magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale hit the coast of Ecuador. There's been over 400 casualties (this number is expected to rise), over 2500 injured, entire towns were destroyed and countless people have been left homeless. We are a group of Ecuadoreans at Penn State that feel and understand the pain of our people. More than ever, we are relying on our Penn State community and the world to give us a hand and help us make a difference in our other home.

Help the cause and donate , no matter how big or small your donation is, every dollar counts and will make a difference in someone's life. All the proceeds will go towards attending the most urgent needs.

With much love,

All the Ecuadorians at Penn State.

1. Who you are
This campaign is part of an initiative started by three Penn State students from Ecuador. Juan Pablo Vallarino, Juan Sebastian Carcelen, and Sebastian Fernandez decided to start a campaign in Penn State in order to alleviate the damage in the most affected parts of the country. Alongside Juan, Juan, and Sebastian, the Ecuadorian community at Penn State have come together in an effort not only to raise money to help the victims but also to raise awareness about the dire situation that Ecuador is facing.
2. Where you're from
Juan, Juan, and Sebastian were born and raised in Ecuador. We are currently living in State College, PA, and go to Penn State, University Park.
3. Your relationship to the parties you're raising funds for
All the money raised through this campaign will be donated to the Sanchez Aguilar Foundation which has been working with International Medical Corps to provide relief to the most affected areas of the country. The Sanchez Aguilar foundation was established in 1989 with the goal to create a social change in Ecuador through education. The Sanchez Aguilar Foundation is well known among Ecuador's elite and has been known to raise large sums of money for projects of many sorts that work to create a social and cultural change in Ecuador. The Sanchez Aguilar foundation has teamed up with International Medical Corps in an effort to fundraise not only in Ecuador but in countries like the United States and the United Kingdom where large communities of Ecuadorians live. All proceeds will be used jointly to provide emergency relief and alleviate the long-term struggles that come with a crisis like the one our people are facing. For more information on the Sanchez Aguilar Foundation and International Medical
Corps you can visit their online site at http://teatrosanchezaguilar.org/teatro/la-fundacion/
